Celebrate Oktoberfest

Bring Oktoberfest to Your Restaurant – Oktoberfest is one of the largest festivals in the world. It is celebrated in Munich, Germany as well as throughout many other cities. Oktoberfest is all about beer, German food, and fun. There are many people who would love nothing more than to visit Munich and cannot. However, you can bring Oktoberfest to them by updating your restaurant for the month.

There are many ways that you can liven up your restaurant throughout the time of Oktoberfest. Just as you may want to celebrate other holidays throughout your restaurant, Oktoberfest is a great one, and with fall approaching, it’s something you will want to consider.  Oktoberfest is a popular holiday all around the globe.

Décor

Decorating the restaurant inside and out is a sure way to tell people that you have decided to celebrate Oktoberfest. When you decorate, people are going to anticipate the food and beer that comes with the holiday – and you won’t want to disappoint.

Décor can be a simple or as involved as you want it to be. You may want to get custom signage that talks about Oktoberfest and advertise what you are going to be doing. You may also want to hang a German flag, and even decorate your employees by getting some fun German outfits. Have all of your servers look as though they are doing their part by dressing the same as servers in Munich.

Food

You can add a few different foods to your menu. You may want to go with some of the traditional German foods such as bratwurst, sauerbraten, and apple strudel. It’s also possible to get creative in other ways and add various German ingredients into some of the foods you already have. Maybe for the month of October, you put a burger on a pretzel bun and top it off with Muenster cheese. Maybe you add herring or trout to your fish menu. Whatever it is, honor the German heritage of food and advertise that your restaurant is celebrating Octoberfest.

Beer

Beer is a big part of the Oktoberfest culture. You may want to add a few German beers to the lineup on draft. You may also want to check out some of the fall beers that are coming out around the microbreweries and see what you can bring in by the bottle.

Another thing you may want to do so people can try different beers is to get wooden paddles. These can be made to house three, four, or five small glasses so you can allow people to build their own flights and try multiple new beers at the same time.

Bring Oktoberfest to Your Restaurant – Whatever it is that you decide to do in your restaurant, be sure to do your research. Be as authentic as possible with the décor, the food, and the beer. You also want to make sure that you advertise to let the public know that you are celebrating Oktoberfest.
